Current Events for 2009,2010,2011:
Strong Sun Pow Wow has been issued proclamation by the Govenor for our pow wow making this Native American week end in NC. Click on pow wow section for details The Tribe hosts crafting classes every 2nd & 4th Friday nights of the month for those who are interested and Tribal citizenship is not a requirement to attend. There are no fees for the classes; however, there is a need to know how many attendees to expect. To register, contact Tribal Office 1-336-618-0561 . Some of the Activities in Crafting Classes Traditionals Teaching Medicine Wheel Study Genealogy Teaching History Discussions There will be a gathering in early May for all Tribal Citizenship. Persons who have taken courses will be invited. The annual Strong Sun Pow Wow will take place July 13th-14th-15th at Tanglewood Park. There will also be a flute concert Sunday night featuring Mr. John Sarantos, who is a Native American flute player who has performed at Carnegie Hall and many other private concerts. He will also be teaching Native American flute and performing at the Pow wow. (View the Pow wow tab for more details.) Additions will be made to this list from time to time. as one of our Contriubting Sponsors. There will be a Native American Flute concert held at the Yadkinville Community Park on July 9th, 2011 . This is a event open to the Public and admission is free.
